Shanghai Institute of Process Automation Instrumentation (SIPAI), founded in 1956 and located by the Caohejing Hi-Tech Park of Shanghai, is well known for its achievement in the field of process automation.

    Since its founding, SIPAI has been exclusively dedicated to the research, development, manufacture, testing and application of process instrumentation. Being a leading fundamental and comprehensive institute of China' instumentation industry, it offers a wide range of solutions such as the desigen of process control system, system integration, turn-key projects and engineering services. The National Engineering Research Center for Process Automation is set up in SIPAI.

    At present, there are over 500 members on its staff in SIPAI, 80% of which are engineers and technician and among them technical professionals of senior position account for 60%. SIPAI aims to strive for a hi-tech group that conducts operation in compliance with market-oriented economy, based on automation and control technologyies and combined with growth of the development, commercialization and trade.
