NEPSI has a new international cooperation partner

 

 

On April 9th  to 10th , 2002, Mr. Jim Munro, Director of TESTSAFE of Australian, a world famous testing and certification organization for explosion protection, and Chairman of IEC/TC31 (Electrical Apparatus for Explosive Atmospheres), made a friend visit to National Supervision and Inspection Center for Explosion Protection and Safety of Instrumentation (NEPSI).

    

TESTSAFE of Australian,which, Mr. Xu Jianping, Director of NEPSI, once visited in September 1999, is directly affiliated to the safety authority of the Australian government – WorkCover Authority of NSW.

 

During his visit, Mr. Jim Munro made a comprehensive exchanges with NEPSI concerning history, structure, personnel, facilities, ability, achievements, testing technology and certification procedure of each side, as well as the latest development trends in this field.  Based on his understanding of NEPSI, Mr. Jim Munro made a serious investigation, in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, on NEPSI’s laboratory management and technology.  He highly evaluated and adequately confirmed the quality control system of NEPSI’s laboratories and its functioning.

     

Based on mutual interests, both sides finally reached a cooperation agreement to establish cooperative relationship of mutual recognition in the field of testing and certification of electrical apparatus used in explosive atmospheres.  This is the third bilateral cooperation agreement on mutual recognition signed between NEPSI and world famous testing and certification organizations for explosion protection.

    

Henceforth, the Chinese manufacturers of electrical apparatus for use in explosive atmospheres can apply directly to NEPSI for TESTSAFE approval, and vice versa, manufacturers in Australian can apply directly to TESTSAFE for NEPSI approval.
