SIPAI Inspection and Testing Institute of Instruments and Automation Systems (hereinafter referred to as SITIIAS) is a subordinate establishment of Shanghai Institute of Process Automation Instrumentation (hereinafter referred to as SIPAI). It is a specialized setup mainly engaged in testing, calibration and verification of industrial-process measurement and control instruments and systems, and responsible for standardization and metrology management of the instrument industry. Its laboratories are successively ratified, accredited and authorized by the state authorities. Some laboratories are ratified and accredited by or have mutual recognition relationship with well-known testing organizations in the world:

    ¡ï Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Products of Process Automation Instrumentation, Ministry of Machinery Industry;

    ¡ï Pattern Approval Laboratory for New Metrological Devices, Authorized by China State Bureau of Technical Supervision;

    ¡ï Reliability Technology Center of Instrumentation, Ministry of Machinery Industry;

    ¡ï No. 1 Central Station of Metrology of the Ministry of Machinery Industry;

    ¡ï Certification Laboratory for Process Instrumentation, and Certification Laboratory for Quality License of Water Meter for Export, authorized by the State Administration for the Inspection of Import and Export Commodities;

    ¡ï Technical Testing Center for Marine Instruments, authorized by the Register of Shipping of the People¡¯s Republic of China;

    ¡ï National Supervision and Inspection Center for Explosion Protection and Safety of Instrumentation (NEPSI), (Mutually recognized with PTB and FMRC);

    ¡ï Environment Test and Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory, accredited by Lloyd¡¯s Register of Shipping;

    ¡ï Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory, accredited by FCC;

    ¡ï Social Public Metrological Standard certification, authorized by Shanghai Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision;

    ¡ï Secretariat of China National Technical Committee of Standardization for Industrial Process Measurement and Control (CSBTS/TC124), which is also responsible for technical affairs in China that correlate with IEC TC65 and ISO TC30 activities.
